Outings

Members of TASC and the Anchorage Club on a joint outing

Each year the Tyne Area Shipping Club arranges a number of outings. We are open to suggestions for this year - send in your suggestions via the Contact page.

At the April meeting members were asked if they would care to make a site visit to see the progress of the New Tyne Tunnel Crossing.

The visit was kindly arranged for us by Paul Fenwick and Margaret Pyle. It took place on 12th May. A group of 20 of us were given a VIP afternoon where we first were shown plans models and photographs of the various stages of construction of the new tunnel, we then went on site and were taken through a large section of the North-end new tunnel. A super experience. An email has been sent thanking our hosts for an interesting and enjoyable afternoon. See also the News & Views page where details of the design is shown.
